In 2012, the General Assembly established the Substance Abuse Recovery Support Services Grant Program Fund on the books of the Commonwealth treasury.
This will be a valuable resource to those struggling with addiction and substance abuse by providing increased funding to available programs. The funds will benefit community based, peer to peer substance abuse service providers like The McShin Foundation and The Healing Place in the Richmond Region.
The bill also requires the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services to convene a work group of stakeholders to develop criteria for awarding grants.
If you are experiencing difficulty with a family member or friend as it relates to substance abuse, this will be a valuable resource in helping to provide necessary treatment. Winslow & McCurry, PLLC regularly represents clients with these challenges. For more information on the availability of these programs as they relate to your case, please call (804) 423-1382 and speak with one of our attorneys.
